While nearby towns and cities reminded of modernization, our valley was unique and rich in tradition with a feast of local characters, traditions, and unique language as the context of this true story. Uncle Martin was a hard-working legend of the community and an ideal backdrop for this true story of how the Lord used others to help heal a very sick dog and strengthen a little girl’s faith. This is the first in a series of Uncle Martin’s Porch Tales. It was a crisp fine Saturday morning. All the children in the valley had finished their chores and were playing outside. They saw Uncle Martin standing on his porch and decided to go sit with him for a while in the shade. FREE ACTIVITIES
